Patience...Its a waiting game here. No new news really. Blake is doing well but has remained on the same JET ventilator settings for the past 4 days- they are not weaning at this time, slow and steady wins the race- isnt that how the saying goes? They want to give him time to grow. Slow, and steady, Patience, Wait..Wait...Wait. Did i mention in my previous blogs how BAD I am at waiting. I just have to remind myself, we are on God's time. He will make the changes when he knows its time!
Something that is continuing to change daily though is his feedings. He is up to getting 17mL every 3 hours. He is still tolerating all of his feedings and hopefully soon we will be able to take off the TPN (his IV nutrition- which if on for long term can potentially cause liver damage) and he can be exclusively taking breastmilk. We are almost off of it now- the nurse thinks about a few more days and the TPN can be turned off. Nothing else has changed since the last blog its a roller coaster ride and we are just along for the ride- we will keep you updated with any changes.
Family and friends you keep asking what you can do for us...we ask only for one thing Just keep on praying!
